Acclaimed Guitarist Pat Flynn Releases reNew; Debuts CD on David Higgs' Bluegrass Breakdown
 
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — Celebrated guitarist / songwriter Pat Flynn will debut his new solo release, reNew, on Saturday, August 9, on David Higgs' Bluegrass Breakdown.  The is releasing a solo CD this month titled: reNew.  Higgs will devote the entire hour-long episode of his popular, long-running show, which airs locally on WPLN Radio (90.3) at 7:00 p.m.
 
In addition to performing songs from the album, Higgs will conduct an interview with Flynn, best known as a member of the wildly influential New Grass Revival (along with Bela Fleck, John Cowan and Sam Bush).
 
reNew is the 3rd volume of Flynn's musical trilogy, preceeded by reQuest and reVision.
 
An in-demand session guitarist, Flynn has recorded on a multitude of Gold and Platinum Records as well as numerous CMA and Grammy award winning projects, the newest being Randy Travis' Rise and Shine and Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance.  Additionally, Flynn wrote and performed the Garth Brooks hit single, Do What You Gotta Do.
 
In recent years Flynn has been involved in some very special musical events. The Greencards invited Flynn, who had contributed to their debut recordings, to accompany them as they opened a national tour for Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. Legendary singer songwriter Tom T Hall chose Flynn as his musical director for his turn as Artist-in-Residence at the Country Music Hall of Fame. He also teamed up with Raul Malo, Rob Ickes, and Dave Pomeroy to record the acclaimed 'Nashville Sessions' CD, an award winning Americana Project, and later joined Minton Sparks to contribute a duet to the 'Songs of America' CD, an all star artist tribute to Americana Music, under the direction of former Attorney General Janet Reno, that received much national attention.
