Kenny Rogers Farewell Concert Celebration Announced

Kenny Rogers Farewell Concert Celebration Announced

Nashville, TN, July 18, 2017
The expectations were high at the Kenny Rogers press conference at The Steps at WME in the heart of Nashville as a special announcement was going to take place.  Those expectations were all met and then some when we received a specially made playing card with The Gambler himself as the king of hearts.

On the back of the card we saw “All In For The Gambler” printed in a very artful graphic design and it was announcing a farewell concert to be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on October 25.  After digesting the news for a little while, the CEO of Blackbird Presents, Keith Wortman, started speaking and presented Kenny Rogers as he walked onto the stage floor.

We were told that at this concert, Rogers’ legacy and songbook will be celebrated with the help of some very distinguished artist friends of his.  Dolly Parton is one and Kenny said she had talked to him initiating the idea for this concert with the words “You can’t do this without me”.  And truly, what would “You Can’t Make Old Friends” be if they didn’t do it together …

Other well respected and renowned performers will be Alison Krauss, Little Big Town, The Flaming Lips, Idina Menzel (Queen Elsa in Disney’s “Frozen”), Elle King and Jamey Johnson.  More performers will be announced as the details finalize in the upcoming weeks.

Any lover of music will agree when we say Rogers is an icon, a trendsetter, a musical hero and legend and still feel we have limited ourselves trying to describe who this revered entertainer is and what he stands for.  Millions of fans love him, millions of people have seen him in concert and he is one of the best selling male singers of all time in numbers of records sold with over 120 million.  He is currently on his last tour and is now going to be honored with this farewell concert.  All millions will miss seeing him perform, but we all wish him the very best from our hearts to his now that The Gambler has decided, once the tour is over, to start spending all available time with his wife and twin boys.  They will also be present at the “All In For The Gambler” farewell concert.

Tickets go on sale on July 21.
