Rising Country Star Mickey Lamantia To Make Nashville Debut
Opening for Mickey Gilley
March 14, 2017, Nashville, TN...Rhode Island-based, outlaw country artist, Mickey Lamantia, will make his Nashville debut on St. Patrick’s Day opening for Mickey Gilley. Lamantia has a very interesting background working as a correctional officer for the state of Rhode Island for nearly 20 years. As a songwriter, he is inspired by the loneliness of the enclosed walls, and the slow passage of time. “The prison has given me a lot of perspective that I apply to songwriting. You have to be rough around the edges to work here. I’ve dealt with some evil people, and I’ve dealt with people who just made mistakes,” he says.
Leveraging social media, Lamantia has developed an impressive following through his Whiskey Wednesdays, Facebook Live series, which is sponsored by the spirit brand Sons of Liberty. He often plays live from their distillery and averages between 10,000-40,000 views on the weekly show. He has nearly 1 million views on a video for his original song “How Do I Say Goodbye?” which has been shared over 25,000 times on Facebook.
Lamantia will soon release his second album, Outlaw Life, which satisfies fans’ requests for more traditional country music on the radio. Lamantia will perform solo acoustic on March 17, at the Nashville Palace at 7 p.m. as part of Mickey Gilley's St. Patrick's Day Urban Cowboy Style party.
