CD Review: REG BENOIT - Love Tears & Sacrifice

Love Tears & Sacrifice
Your Way - Family Bible - Owner Of My Soul - Love Tears & Sacrifice - Bully Bully Boy - Our Saviour - Supper Time - Who Let You Out - Victory In Jesus - For Ever More - Life's Railway To Heaven - Shine Down
There's no doubt about it, I'm a good listener to anything gospel that is made for and reflects the teaching of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Reg Benoit is a Canadian with a penchant for country music, but the first song on this CD leans pretty heavily to electric guitar rock and roll, but still, it's a darn good song. This delightful CD is dedicated to the memory of pastor Victor Marskell and his dear wife Mary Marksell as wll as to Reg Benoit's parents, Bart and Lucy Benoit, with a special mention to Bertha Aube.  I like an artist who takes the time to 'dedicate' some of his gift of music to those he loves and cares for.  That's what the teachings of Christ is all about.  Sharing, caring, and certainly recognizing the needs of others.  By the time Reg gets to the 'Family Bible" I'm all set to hear some good traditional country gospel, and sure enough he delivers.  This great Claude Gray song has stood the test of time, and Claude still performs it at all of his concerts, the last one at our own little Oak Tree Performance Center in Anita, Iowa.  In Reg Benoit's version, his voice resonates, he means the words he's singing, and the harmony parts really sound good.  Reg has a very pleasant and likable voice, so that makes listening to him sing a pleasant experience.  Reg has been playing music since 1961, and he has been an active pastor for the past seven years, going to Ambassador University for his education.  He's held a number of jobs, but he also plays a number of musical instruments, all of them quite well.  It's a super good CD.  Reg has been entertaining Canadians for a long time with his gift of music, and my guess is he will continue to do this for a long time.  I received this CD from my friend in Newfoundland, Michael T Wall.  Good CD, off it goes to the Rural Roots Music Commission  for their listening pleasure.
