DIERKS BENTLEY AND ELLE KING
PERFORM “DIFFERENT FOR GIRLS” ON
THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT
NASHVILLE, TN - June 27, 2016 - Multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley will perform on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (6/27 on CBS at 10:35P CT) tonight with collaborator and friend Elle King for the late night debut of their new single, "Different For Girls.” The track is the second single from the No. one album BLACK (Capitol Records Nashville). Following the multi-week No. one hit “Somewhere On A Beach,” the song also cruises up the radio charts into the Top 25 just weeks after its release.
Critics and fans have found "Different For Girls" to be “a welcome surprise” (InStyle) to the format, as Rolling Stone, People and Stereogum have pinned it as "stand out" on BLACK, likening it to the "Nashville equivalent of Beyonce’s 'If I Were A Boy'” (Idolator).
"Very atmospheric. An echoey track backs Dierks and pop chirper Elle as they duet on a lyric that explains how heartbreak affects different sexes. Love that thumping rhythm undertow." – Music Row
"Smartly laments how the sexes deal with a breakup.” - Newsday
"The same character who handles a breakup with a mind-numbing bender in ‘Beach' reaches a new level of maturity in 'Different for Girls,’ recognizing that women typically take a more sensible approach to emotional healing” - Billboard
"While the industry changes...what remains the same is his desire to make true albums" (Sioux City Journal) as BLACK ranks as the best selling release of Bentley's career, after debuting at the No. one position on Billboard’s Top Albums Chart and Top Country Albums chart. The multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter continues "connecting with fans from diverse regions of America" (CNN) as his 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR proves "Bentley is at the top of his game" (New Hampshire Union Leader).
