A THOUSAND HORSES LEADS THE PACK WITH #1 HIT “SMOKE”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 1, 2015) – A Thousand Horses haven’t slowed down since their history-making debut on the Country charts earlier this year with their first single “Smoke.” The hit song has reached the number 1 spot this week on both Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay charts, one week before their debut album, Southernality (Republic Nashville), is released on June 9.
"Absolutely unreal! I've dreamed of this day since I picked up a guitar and started trying to write songs when I was 12 years old," frontman Michael Hobby reflects. "We are all so appreciative of Country radio for their support and to the fans for making this song theirs."
“It's rare air for an act in any genre of music to accomplish what A Thousand Horses has just achieved,” added Jimmy Harnen, EVP Big Machine Label Group/President Republic Nashville. “Country radio has welcomed this band with open arms and we are incredibly grateful for their support! It takes a village to break a band so on behalf of the entire team and to everyone who has cheered this band on along the way, we say, thank you to all of the believers!”
