Rachel (Saunders) Dampier is becoming known in the southeast United States for her powerhouse vocal ability, heart-gripping lyrics and tireless advocacy.
Her single, "Strong Heart" is currently #26 in the Power Source Inspirational Country Music Charts. She was raised on the Florida-Alabama line in Bonifay, Florida. Though it has only about three stoplights, Bonifay is a town famous for rodeos and home to the annual Gospel "Biggest All-Night Sing in the World." Rachel sang at that event, and often in church. While growing up in the Panhandle, other doors began to open for her to sing. Since childhood, she has written and performed music in churches, colleges and other venues throughout the world. Those venues include those in the US, Europe, Middle East and China. A few highlights of her experience include her performance on the ABC network and in a television series with Cover Girl Cosmetics Model Jennifer O'Neill. She has opened for major artists in Christian, Country and Pop music, and recently recorded a duet on her latest album with American Idol finalist Ricky Braddy. Her previous album, Vintage Gospel, garnered an Angel Award in 2008.

Rachel hopes that her music will encourage people who listen to find the resilience that she has found from God. She is currently scheduled to be on tour through November. The Resilient Tour is taking Rachel along the east coast to venues and radio stations from New York City to Florida with international dates including Asia.

"What a dream to be nominated for an Inspirational Country Music Award," says Dampier. "There are so many talented newcomers to this genre, so I feel really blessed."
