JUSTIN MCBRIDE STEERS TOWARD MUSIC CAREER
Former Pro Bull Rider Heightens Recognition As Music Entertainer
Signs With Nashville Management Team • Makes First Appearance At CRS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 07, 2012)—Former professional bull rider Justin McBride, who is most widely recognized as a PBR World Champion in arenas across the country, is redirecting his career to satisfy yet another hunger for excitement.
With plans on the horizon to expand his branding as a country music recording artist to be reckoned with, Justin McBride has recently announced his alliance with a roundup of industry execs to signify his goal. Solidifying a group of top-notch professionals to tout his pure roughrider sound, McBride recently signed with Patterson Management as its flagship talent and Music City Media for public relations representation. McBride’s early 2012 tour schedule (appearing in arenas, at fairs and festivals, and in honky-tonks across the U.S.) makes evident country music fans are vying for him.
Patterson Management, headed by husband and wife team, Tim and Darla Patterson, signed Justin as their lead artist. Music veterans both on and off stage (as performing musicians, writers and producers), the pair is prepared to navigate McBride’s career through appearances, sponsorships and upcoming music releases.
“I really couldn’t ask for a more iron-clad group of folks to help me set my music in motion,” Justin McBride shares. “Tim and Darla are also part of my band and I trust them wholly to back me up in all aspects of my career in the music business.”
McBride will appear and participate for the first time at Country Radio Seminar taking place in Nashville later this month. He is scheduled to make introductions with radio programmers, participate in media interviews and appear in a special “Stage It” performance to be held at the Sony Tree Fire Hall on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 8:00 PM along side award-winning songwriter, Wynn Varble. Varble has penned hits such as “Have You Forgotten?,” “Waitin' On A Woman” and “A Little More Country Than That.” (The “Stage It” show will be streamed at http://www.stageit.com/wynnvarble/wynn_s_world/6919.)
Justin McBride has led a storied life of adventure, success and love and he wears it well. A fifth generation cowboy, McBride is a full-blooded bull rider. Riding atop thousands of bulls in his lifetime, with braided rope embedded in the palm of his hand, McBride began his professional career in 1999. He's achieved notoriety and coveted titles most have not—before walking away—earning his first Professional Bull Riding World Championship in 2005. McBride has a record 32 career wins and was the first professional bull rider to earn more than $5 million over the course of his career.
Drawn to the music he was raised on in America’s heartland, McBride departed his bull riding career a winner. Releasing his debut album, DON’T LET GO, within seven short days of earning his second PBR World Championship (2007), Justin McBride set his sights toward another lifelong dream to entertain in a different arena, leaving the sawdust for the stage.
“I still love riding and the next ride is as exciting as the last,” McBride explains. “It’s just as big a thrill to perform on stage (and a little less life-threatening). I am so thankful for the opportunity to pursue my other passion in country music and I think the two worlds boast fans like no other. The support they’ve shown in the transition has been overwhelming and sharing my music is one of the best ways that I can stay in touch.”
A model cowboy who carries the torch for the likes of Chris LeDoux, Justin McBride’s vocals are as gravely as a country road, and he walks the walk and talks the talk. No stranger to a microphone or the spotlight, Justin is an entertainer who has made special appearances to host a number of national television shows; he recorded and released a live CD/DVD LIVE AT BILLY BOB'S TEXAS, and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry. Preparing for another ride with the charge to bring his life experiences to song, McBride is recording this week in Nashville with plans to deliver his latest single to radio in late Spring/early Summer.
