98 WSIX And Band Against MS Join Forces Again To Raise Funds For MS Research

February 6, 2012 – Multi-platinum selling country artist Clay Walker will host the third annual Chords of Hope: The Clay Walker MS Benefit Concert at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville on June 5th. The concert, presented by 98 WSIX and produced by Clay’s charity Band Against MS (BAMS), will help raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis research with proceeds going to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. To date, Chords of Hope: The Clay Walker MS Benefit Concert, has donated around 100,000 dollars to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Tickets for the concert, which will also include performances by Jerrod Neimann, Hal Ketchum, and Sarah Marince, are on sale now at www.claywalker.com.

“Chords of Hope is a truly special event to me because it helps raise funds and awareness for MS research while also getting the chance to perform for fans,” said Clay. “I am so grateful for all of the support that we have gotten over the last two years at this event and cannot wait to make this one even bigger!”

After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996 Clay founded Band Against MS (BAMS), a non profit charity committed to providing educational information and research grants to institutions searching for a cure or treatment for MS, and fund programs that help those living with the disease. Walker established BAMS with the goal of helping others living with the same disease he has battled.  To date, BAMS has raised more than 2 million dollars.  

As a true fan favorite with a devoted legion of followers across the country Clay Walker made his country music debut in 1993. Since then, he has sold over 11 million albums, had 11 #1 hit singles, four RIAA platinum and two gold certified albums under his belt.
