2010 Americana Album of the Year recipient Rosanne Cash will read the List of Nominees during the traditional “opening of the envelope” segment of the ceremony.  There will be a musical presentation featuring the legendary Levon Helm and his Dirt Farmer quartet, Jim Lauderdale, The Civil Wars and some surprise guests!   Nashville Mayor Karl Dean will be in attendance to make remarks about the association and Music City.

The Americana Honors and Awards program will take place at the historically cool Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on Thursday October 13, 2011.  The show is the capstone event of the Americana Music Festival and Conference that runs from October 12-15, 2011.

Each year, the Americana Music Association honors distinguished members of the music community with six member voted annual awards and with Lifetime Achievement Awards.  Jim Lauderdale hosts the critically acclaimed show with Buddy Miller as the program's band leader.  The Honors & Awards are attended by over 2000 artists, music loving fans and entertainment industry executives.

Described by Emmylou Harris as “the shining star of Nashville and music everywhere,” the event has been broadcast internationally via SiriusXM Radio, BBC2, WSM and Voice of America.  The Honors & Awards have featured many amazing moments including Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash's last live performance together, as well as show-stopping appearances by John Fogerty, Lyle Lovett, Rosanne Cash, The Avett Brothers, Solomon Burke, Old Crow Medicine Show, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Mavis Staples, Robert Plant, Patty Griffin, Guy Clark, Levon Helm, and so many more.
